Hamburg beat Freiburg 3-0 away thanks to some goalkeeping howlers while Monchengladbach thrashed Frankfurt 4-1 to close the 10th round of German Bundesliga.

Freiburg still await their first win of the season, as goalkeeper Oliver Baumann helped Hamburg with three costly mistakes relegating them to their fifth loss Sunday, reports Xinhua.

Freiburg staged a courageous opening period but things changed drastically, as Hamburg took the lead with 37 minutes on the clock. Goalkeeper Oliver Baumann raced off his line, making a hash of a long ball, to clear the way for Maximilian Beister, who scored from sharp angle into the open goal.

Things went from bad to worse when Baumann helped Hamburg score with his second blunder. Pierre Michel Lasogga utilised a fumble by Baumann to tap into the open goal in the 47th minute.

Baumann wasn't finished yet as another moment of madness from the goalkeeper saw him spill the ball into the path of Rafael van der Vaart, who had no problems to poke home into the empty net.

Elsewhere, Monchengladbach recorded their fifth win to enter the top four in the standings, following a convincing 4-1 victory on home soil over Frankfurt.

Monchengladbach's Juan Arango broke the deadlock with a free kick goal from 22 metres, 11 minutes into the game. But, the visitors responded four minutes later when Stefan Aigner restored parity following an assist by Vaclav Kadlec.

Frankfurt's joy lasted just three minutes as Oscar Wendt slotted home from the edge of the box into the near post corner to make it 2-1.

Patrick Herrmann and Rafael added another two goals for the 4-1 final score line.
