Hamburger SV and defender Stephan Amrosius have agreed on a new contract that will see the 19-year-old remaining with the German football club until June 2021.
"Stephan has developed absolutely positively and is a prime example of how good our academy works. With his aggressiveness and speed, he has two important skills on his positions. We trust him to take the next step," Hamburg manager Johannes Spors said on Friday, reports Xinhua news agency.
Since 2012, Ambrosius has been playing for the "HSV" where he made 20 appearances and one goal for the first team this season.
"It is a nice feeling to stay at Hamburg and sign my first professional contract here. Now I want to take this opportunity and develop myself. I will continue to work hard for that," Ambrosius said.
Hamburger are on the brink of being relegated for the first time in the Bundesliga history. Hamburg will need a victory over Borussia Monchengladbach and a loss for rivals Wolfsburg to avoid their direct relegation on Saturday.
