German football club Hannover 96 has announced that striker Jonathas suffered a new injury during a training session.
The Brazilian sustained a torn hamstring and will be thus out of action for "at least two weeks", according to the club's statement on Tuesday, reports Xinhua news agency.
"We wish you a speedy recovery and keep our fingers crossed for a quick comeback," Hannover said via the club's official homepage.
Jonathas joined newly promoted Hannover in August 2017. He has provided three goals and assists in 12 competitive appearances.
However, it is not the first time that the injury prone striker has been sidelined this season.
Hannover sit currently on the 13th place of the Bundesliga standings. They encounter Werder Bremen for the opener of the 29th round on Friday.
