Haryana has offered to reconstruct 25 villages in Uttarakhand that were devastated by the recent cloudbursts and flash-floods in the hill state.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda told media here Monday that the offer for reconstruction has been made to his Uttarakhand counterpart, Vijay Bahuguna.

Several villages and pilgrimage centres were devastated by the flash floods and landslides in Uttarakhand last week.

Hooda said that 1,044 pilgrims from Haryana, who were stranded at various places in Uttarakhand, have been evacuated.

He said that he had left his helicopter in Dehradun to undertake rescue and relief operations in that state.

He said that 25,000 blankets, over one lakh doses of vaccines for animals and other relief material has been sent to Uttarakhand so far by Haryana.
