The Haryana police is "worthless" and policemen's attitude and ability to tackle crime against women were not satisfactory, Rekha Sharma, a member of the National Commission for Women, said here on Wednesday.
Sharma was in Gurugram for two days for public hearing of cases related to women.
While speaking to the media, she said: "Gurugram police was not much efficient and needed special training to tackle the crimes that occur here."
She said the Investigation Officers (IOs) who probe crimes against women always appeared to be in a hurry to close the case.
She added that the number of women police personnel posted in the Millennium City were also not sufficient.
A total of 125 cases were put before the women's panel out of which 70 were disposed off on Tuesday and the remaining were settled on Wednesday.
