Haryana is in the process of setting up four big markets to facilitate farmers to sell their agricultural and floricultural produce at remunerative prices, Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister O.P. Dhankar said here on Thursday.

The work to set up such a market spread over 600 acres in Ganaur in Sonepat district is in progress.

Besides, a flower market will be set up in Gurugram in coordination with the international flower market in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to cater to the demand for flowers in the National Capital Region-Delhi.

Similarly, a market for spices will be set up in Sonepat and an apple market on 250 acres in Pinjore town in Panchkula district.

Dhankar was addressing the media after inaugurating the 32nd World Union of Wholesale Markets Conference, in which representatives from 19 countries, including from China, Spain, Mexico, Poland, Serbia, and the US, are participating.
