Haryana's State Vigilance Bureau (SVB) has decided to engage retired officers from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to further improve the quality of investigations, a senior officer said on Tuesday.
SVB Director General Prabhat R. Deo said that applications for the same have been invited from former CBI officers.
Ex-CBI officers, of the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), will be hired for investigations by the SVB for important cases, he added.
The SVB is the main investigative unit of the Haryana Vigilance Department. It deals with complaints of corruption and irregularities against government officials, especially laying traps to catch officers indulging in bribery.
