The health condition of Parliamentarian Prabhat Jha, admitted to AIIMS after he contracted Chikungunya, is improving and he may be discharged soon, a hospital source said on Wednesday.
Jha was admitted to hospital on October 13 and had to be shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) twice. However, he was shifted back to the private ward and his condition is said to be improving, a source said on the condition of anonymity.
Jha, who is a Rajya Sabha member from Madhya Pradesh, is also a severe diabetic and has developed diabetic foot infection.
"He also has liver infection and has been admitted under S.K. Sharma from the medicine department and S.K. Acharya of the Gastroenterology department," said the source.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Health Faggan Singh Kulaste visited Jha at the hospital.
