At least 10 pilgrims died in Pakistan due to the heat during the 763rd Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar on Saturday.

Thousands of devotees from across the country arrived in the small town of Sehwan in Jamshoro district of Sindh province to pay homage to the Sufi saint, Geo News reported.

Devotees had to face a severe heat wave as the temperature in Sehwan touched 44 degrees celsius.

Every year, more than half a million pilgrims across Pakistan, especially from Sindh and Punjab, visit the shrine. Most of the people present garlands and a green chadar (shawl) with Quranic inscriptions in silver or gold threads.
