Heavy rainfall is likely to lash south and interior Karnataka as the southwest monsoon is active over the region, officials from the meteorological department said on Thursday.
Rain and thundershowers would also occur at many places in coastal Karnataka and at isolated places in north Karnataka.
The met department continued to issue alerts to fishermen and advised them against venturing into the sea as strong onshore winds, reaching upto speeds of 45 to 55 km per hour, from the west are likely to pound the Karnataka coast.
Bengaluru city will experience a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers. Strong gusty surface winds would sweep the city at times on Thursday, officials added.
The city experienced 2.9 mm of rainfall on Wednesday.
The maximum temperature on Thursday is likely to be around 30 degrees Celsius, the officials said.
On Wednesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 30.3 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 21.1 degrees Celsius.
