With heavy rains in the past 24-hours, the weather continued to be pleasant in most parts of Uttar Pradesh (UP) on Monday.
Continuous rains on Sunday brought down the mercury considerably and the maximum temperature on Sunday was registered at 28.4 degrees celsius, five notches below the normal temperature.
The minimum temperature recorded in the state capital was 25.6 degrees celsius. The Regional Meteorological Department predicted that rains would continue intermittently in most parts of the state.
Many rivers are in the spate owing to heavy rains in the state in the past 48-hours.
District administration of Hardoi held meeting with local army officials to alert them of an impending flood like situation in the district.

It is overcast in most areas on Monday and some places in eastern UP have reported heavy rainfall since earlier in the day.
Eeleven persons were killed in rain-related mishaps. Rail and road routes have been affected in many areas owing to which vehicular traffic is slow.
A rail track on the important Agra-Mumbai route has caved in and repairs were underway, an official said and informed that due to this more than a dozen trains were running behind schedule. Flood water has entered many places in Azamgarh.
