Kurush Heerjee raised local cheers when he returned with 32 points to win in 0-5 Handicap category on Day 2 of the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival at the KGA course here Friday while H.B. Raju Gowda stayed one shot back in second position with 31 points.
In a quest of booking five places for the World Golfers Championship to be held in Durban, South Africa, in November, M.A. Poovaiah made a case for himself by winning in 6-10 handicap category with 37 points while Sunny Ahuja finished second with 36 points.
Vignesh Hebbar submitted a card with 37 points to win in 11-15 handicap category while Ramesh Vardhan slipped out of contention after ending the day with 35 points.
Amit Jaipuria topped with 36 points in 16-20 handicap category and two shots behind was Nitin Sood with 34 points to finish as runners-up.
The winner of 21-24 handicap category was Venkatesh Mayya with 33 points while Vikram Sahgal came second with 32 points.
