Hero women's golf moves to Srinagar

The 10th leg of the Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour will commence Tuesday here at the picturesque Royal Springs Golf Course.

The Rs.7 lakh event will be played Sep 17-19 and will see a tough fight for the top honours in the Hero Order of Merit.

Veteran golfer Smriti Mehra, who has surprised many this year with her wins, will look forward to consolidate her position as the Merit leader. Smriti currently is placed behind the leader, Kolkata's Neha Tripathi. Neha with total earnings of Rs.7,49,400 from nine appearances and four wins on the tour, has an advantage of Rs.74,400 over Smriti.

 

Rookie Shweta Galande, fresh from her maiden win in the ninth leg, will also look forward to consolidate her position in the list. Bangalore's Sharmila Nicollet will miss out due to her schedule on the Ladies European Tour.

The tour comprises 14 legs.
