Hertha Berlin have extended manager Michael Preetz's contract, the German football club said on Thursday.
The former German international and Berlin striker extended his current contract, stipulated until 2017 to June 2019, reports Xinhua.
"We look forward to continue our collaboration with Michael Preetz, who will develop Hertha Berlin successfully in the next years," club president Werner Gegenbauer said.
The 49-year-old manager, who played from 1996 until 2003 for Berlin, is the club's record top scorer with 93 goals. After his professional career he directly joined Berlin's management.
After relegation into the second division, Hertha Berlin were able to stay in the top flight after completing the last season on the seventh place in the Bundesliga.
Berlin play against hosts Ingolstadt in the second round of Bundesliga on Saturday.
