After Mumbai Magicians owners Dabur Group pulled out of the Hockey India League (HIL), DoIT Sports Management (India) Pvt Ltd bought the Mumbai franchise Sunday.
"We welcome DoIT Sports Management on board the HIL. As they already have immense knowledge in the sports arena, we are confident they will have a positive impact on this season's HIL," HIL chairman Narinder Batra said.
"They are a new company who are looking at contributing towards the development and growth of hockey in the country."
DoIT Sports Management founder Radha Kapoor said: "We have always strived towards promotion of sports. This franchise in HIL will be an opportunity to be associated with a game which has millions of fans.
"With so many people attached to this game, we did not want to miss out on this opportunity and are confident this endeavour will enable us to support the game in the region...
"We will also aim to identify young talent through our various initiatives."
The third edition of HIL will be held early next year.
