Justice V.K. Sharma, a former judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, Friday took charge as the chairman of the state administrative tribunal that the government has revived.
Chief Secretary P. Mitra read out the appointment order issued by the president.
Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh told reporters that the government has been successful in setting up the administrative tribunal, which would enable the employees to get their grievances redressed.
He said the state government had pursued the matter for setting up the administrative tribunal with the central government.
"Since there are many service cases pending in the high court, the tribunal would not only provide much relief to the court but will also act as an alternative source for grievance redressal," he added.
