Himachal freezes industrial power rates till 2018: Minister

To woo investors, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to freeze rates of electricity for industries till 2018, a minister said on Tuesday.

Speaking at the investors' meet organized by the state here, Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said the decision was taken to give a boost to the industry.

On second day of the meet, the investors showed interest in solar energy, air taxi and food park sectors, an official statement said.

Industrial house Green Mantra showed interest in solar energy in the state.

In the tourism sector, Aero Air Craft showed interest in starting air services from Shimla to Delhi, while Uber in taxi operation.

 

Meanwhile, Rs.640 crore has been approved by the finance ministry to the state for upgradation of skill development project for next five years.

Being funded by the Asian Development Bank, the project aims to upgrade the skills of youth.

Around 87,000 eligible youth will be provided National Skill Qualification Framework aligned training during the project period, said another statement quoting Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.
