Shoolini University in Solan town of Himachal Pradesh has been accorded sanction to set up a 100-bed naturopathy and yoga hospital with a grant of Rs 80 lakh by the central government, it was announced on Wednesday.
The Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) in a communication to the university has conveyed a financial assistance of Rs 80 lakh for establishment of a 100-bed hospital.
The university has also proposed to start a UGC-approved five-year Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS) from the next academic session.
Varsity Vice Chancellor P.K. Khosla said: "The Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy of the Ministry of AYUSH has approved a Yogananda Medical School of Yoga and Naturopathy at Shoolini University."
This hospital, region's first-of-its-kind in a university, will be ready in a year's time. It will impart knowledge and practices of yoga sciences and meditation with the aid of naturopathic medications for health and wellbeing.
