TSG Hoffenheim reinforced its squad with the signing of FC Basel defender Fabian Schaer, the German football club confirmed in an official statement on Thursday.
The 23-year-old Swiss international agreed with Hoffenheim on a contract until June 2019, after putting pen to paper on a four-year deal. It is the second new arrival for Hoffenheim in the summer transfer window, reports Xinhua.
"With the signing of Fabian Schaer we push on our staff planning for the upcoming season. We found another player who perfectly fits to our requirements," Hoffenheim director Alexander Rosen said.
Schaer played two years at FC Basel to score 15 goals in 110 appearances. The center back scored besides that, five goals in 12 caps for Switzerland.
Hoffenheim finished eighth in the Bundesliga season 2014-2015.
