Hoffenheim have completed the transfer of defender Joshua Brenet from Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven, both football clubs have confirmed.

The Netherlands international will reinforce Hoffenheim's defence for the upcoming season after penning a four-year deal, stipulated until summer 2022, reports Xinhua news agency.

"Joshua is a fast and dynamic defender, who can use his attacking drive to ensure power over the wings. The fact that he can play on both sides makes him a very strong and highly interesting option for our squad," Hoffenheim's sporting director Alexander Rosen said.

The 24-year-old summer signing played since 2012 for PSV Eindhoven where he marked three goals in 109 outings. He is also part of the "Elftal", the Dutch national team, and made two caps.

"I am delighted that the transfer to Hoffenheim has worked out. Here I can be part of a young, offensively minded team and develop further under the guidance of an exceptional coach at the highest level," the new arrival said.

Hoffenheim completed the Bundesliga campaign 2017-2018 in the third place, securing a place in next season's UEFA Champions League group stage.

Brenet is the third summer transfer after the commitment of Leonardo Bittencourt and Ishak Belfodil.
