"The sky will mainly remain clear and the maximum temperature will hover around 42 degrees Celsius," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The Met office, however, said that there was a possibility of relief from the heat on Saturday as "there were chances of rain or thunderstorm".
The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 49 per cent.
Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 41.3 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average and minimum temperature was recorded at 28.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
