Hot Sunday in Delhi, mercury to rise on Monday

The national capital experienced another hot day on Sunday with the maximum temperature settling at 39.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, the Met office said. It has forecast slight rise in temperature on Monday.

"There would be clear sky on Monday," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), adding the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 41 and 22 degrees Celsius respectively.

The minimum temperature on Sunday was 21.4 degrees Celsius, average for the season, while the humidity oscillated between a high of 63 and a low of 23 per cent.

Saturday's maximum temperature settled at 40.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, and the minimum temperature was recorded 22 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average.
