It was a hot and sunny Thursday in the national capital and the maximum temperature settled at 37.2 degrees Celsius, slightly above the season's average. Light rain is expected on Friday, the Met Office said.
"The sky will remain partly cloudy tomorrow (Friday) and some parts of the city may get light rain," said the India Meteorological Department.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 38 and 26 degrees Celsius.
Thursday morning was sunny and the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 71 percent.
Wednesday's maximum temperature settled two notches below the season's average at 36.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.7 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the season.
