Hours after the US House of Representatives approved the final version of the Republican tax bill, a Senate parliamentarian ruled against three provision of the legislation, forcing the House to hold a second vote.
Both chambers were notified of the changes, CNN reported.
The report said the re-voting would not change the timing on the bill or its fundamental provisions.
Earlier in the day, the House handed US President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans their most significant legislative victory of 2017 after approving the final version of the tax reform bill.
The bill is the first overhaul of the US tax code in more than thirty years.
The bill passed along sharp partisan lines, 227 - 203, with 12 House Republican members opposing the it and no Democrats voting for it.
