Telugu spoof-comedy "Hrudaya Kaleyam", which was made on a budget of Rs.1.5 crore, has minted Rs.3.9 crore worldwide in its opening weekend.
"Spoofs may or may not work in your favour. In this case, it worked in the favour of 'Hrudaya Kaleyam'. The film has collected a whopping Rs.3.9 crore in its opening weekend in cinemas worldwide," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
Following the film's theatrical success, its satellite rights have gone high.
"Satellite rights of most new films are decided based on its theatrical success. Thanks to the theatrical success of 'Hrudaya Kaleyam', the makers are likely to sell the film's satellite rights at a fancy price. This is phenomenal success for the film considering the fact it features only newcomers," he added.
Directed by Steven Shankar, "Hrudaya Kaleyam" features Sampoornesh Babu in the lead and several other newcomers.
