A huge cache of explosives suspected to be meant for Maoist guerrillas was recovered from Jharkhand's Pakur district on Monday, police said.

Pakur Superintendent of Police (SP) Shailendra Kumar raided Sharpur village after a tip-off and recovered the explosives from a house.

According to the SP, 10,000 gelatin sticks, 10,000 detonators and 65 sacks of ammonium nitrate were recovered from the house of Bhagat Murmu.

No arrests have been made so far but the police have launched an operation to arrest those involved in the smuggling of the explosives.
