Actor-filmmaker Srinivas Avasarala, who will play the lead in the yet-untitled Telugu remake of Hindi adult comedy "Hunterrr", says the upcoming project will be a bold yet emotional film.
"The second half of the film is so emotional, I was moved by it. People assume it's an adult comedy but the story and the character has a deeper meaning to it. The remake will be bold, but at the same time equally emotional," Srinivas told IANS.
Srinivas will reprise Gulshan Devaiah's role of a sex addict in the remake, which is being helmed by debutant Naveen Medaram.
"I'm yet to sign the project officially. Everything should be finalized in a few days. The film has already gone on the floors and they are currently shooting the childhood portion of the protagonist. I'll be joining the sets in August," he said.
While the leading ladies are yet to be finalised, the cast also includes Tanikella Bharani.
Asked if he feels Telugu audiences are open to these kinds of subjects, he said: "I don't know. I consider myself an audience and I can't think for others. You can't keep the end result in mind and make a film."
