Rajya Sabha deputy chairman P.J. Kurien Friday expressed deep pain over the conduct of two unruly TDP members protesting against the division of Andhra Pradesh and adjourned the house.

Kurien sought the support of the house to take action against the two.

"I am deeply pained... As deputy chairman, I genuinely and sincerely want to run the house," he said.

Opposed to the creation of Telangana, the Telugu Desam Party members kept raising slogans such as "Save Andhra Pradesh" and "We need justice".

The house was earlier adjourned for 30 minutes following the protest by the TDP members.

"Only two honourable members are obstructing (the proceedings)," he said, adding they were holding the house to ransom.

Kurien said those who wanted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to speak on the missing files in the coal block allocation controversy were "not supporting me in taking action.

"That is my agony... If majority agree to take action, I can... Otherwise I will have to adjourn the house."

Kurien then adjourned the house for the day.
