RGIA has now become the only airport in India to have received the distinction, said a statement from GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), which operates the airport.
ACI, the global body of airports, has also adjudged RGIA as the second best airport in the world for 2013, in the 5-15 million passengers per annum (MPPA) category.
RGIA has been consistently ranked as the best airport in 2009 and 2010, third best in 2011, and second best in 2012 and 2013.
S.G.K. Kishore, CEO, GHIAL received the award from ACI director general Angela Gittens at a ceremony held in Seoul.
"It is an honour for us to have retained this coveted rank. We are happy that ever since inception we have been consistently achieving significant rankings," said Kishore.
