Hyderabad-based Nalsar University of Law will soon begin to teach CISF men the principles of industrial security and management to improve their understanding of legal aspects in the field of aviation and industrial security.

It has been made possible through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Wednesday between the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General O.P. Singh and university Vice Chancellor Professor Faizan Mustafa.

CISF officers will be able to pursue different courses offered by the university.

Assistant Commandants will be offered Advanced Post Graduation Diploma in Industrial Security, Law and Management while Sub-Inspectors will be able to attend a PG Diploma in Industrial Security, Law and Management.

Nalsar is counted among the top law schools in the country.

Officials said that CISF men are already trained in various aspects of the criminal justice system, aviation security around the world, passenger behaviour, apart from updating them about new laws related to aviation and industrial security.

The CISF deals with security of various corporates, public sector undertakings and government organisations.

"Other than physical security, officers need to understand the theory of industrial security, how changing times affect their work, and how they will be prepared in future. These diplomas from Nalsar will add to their skills and capacity," a CISF officer said.
