Rahul Aggarwal, producer of Sanjay Dutt-starrer "Policegiri", asserts he is against 'frivolous publicity' and will not use 'sympathy card' to promote his movie.
Sanjay is currently serving his three-and-a-half year jail sentence in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case in the Yerawada Central Jail in Pune. He surrendered May 16.
"That's one card, which I don't want to play because people should not be feeling that I am playing the sympathy card. What is happening is unfortunate. Nevertheless, the film has to be released. But I am not going to be doing any frivolous publicity," Rahul told reporters Tuesday at the first look launch of the film here.
"I am going to take the film's publicity in a very sober and respectful manner," he added.
Talking about Sanjay, he said: "I don't think we should use the word sympathy, we should use the word affection for Mr. Dutt. I think that's the more appropriate word to use."
Directed by K.S. Ravikumar, the action packed cop drama also stars Prachi Desai in the lead and is coming out July 5.
