Real Madrid's Luka Modric said that the team's recently fired coach Carlo Ancelotti brought out the best in him, noting that under his guidance he played the best football of his life.
"All I can say is that he's a great coach and person and I've played my best football under his guidance. Sometimes, even though you don't win trophies, it doesn't mean to say you're no good," the Los Blancos midfielder said, reports Efe.
The Croatian international admitted feeling frustrated because for the third consecutive season, he did not win La Liga title: "It's the only trophy that I haven't won at Real Madrid, but I'm convinced that we'll do our best to win next season."
Modric, who was injured more than a month ago, explained his condition: "I've still not recovered... I can't bend my knee for the fifth week, it hurts me."
