National Socialist Council of Nagaland-IM leader Thuingaleng Muivah on Monday said that they had come to a close understanding with the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
In his remarks after signing a peace accord with the government, Muivah said: "I thank god for this momentous occasion."
He said that Nagas will forever remember Modi for his statesmanship.
"Under Modi we have come close to understanding each other and have worked out a new relation" with the government, said Muivah.
He said that Naga people have great respect for Mahatma Gandhi.
NSCN-IM chief Isak Swu is unwell and is recuperating at Fortis hospital in Delhi.
