The talks between the UN nuclear watchdog and Iran were "constructive" and will be continued Oct 28, both sides said Friday in Vienna.
Herman Nackaert, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief inspector, told reporters that his first meeting with the new Iranian negotiation team was "constructive", Xinhua reported
Reza Najafi, Iran's envoy to the IAEA, confirmed both sides would continue such "constructive" meeting Oct 28, looking forward to reach an agreement in the future as soon as possible with the agency.
The talks were held in the building of Iranian mission to international organisations in the Austrian capital, which lasted for around four hours, relatively shorter than the previous talks.
It was supposed to be a tentative meeting between Tehran's new negotiation team and IAEA, and could hardly make any concrete progress, a Vienna-based diplomat told Xinhua.
Iran is suspected by the UN nuclear watchdog of possible experiments on developing nuclear weapons which Tehran denied, saying the agency was conducting the inspection because of misleading intelligence.
