Former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday said the arrest of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar did not seem "politically motivated" to her, and added the CBI must have found "something" against him.

"The CBI must have got some information about Rajendra Kumar. That's why they did it; otherwise, why would they arrest him? They don't go around attacking everybody," Dikshit told the media here.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday arrested Rajendra Kumar on charges of misusing his official position and facilitating issuance of tenders of Rs 9.5 crore to a particular company.

"I don't think it (arrest) is politically motivated because 5-6 months ago a raid took place at his office. Whether they found adequate reason to arrest him or not, they have arrested him. I don't think I am in a position to find out why the CBI does something or doesn't," the Congress leader added.

Asked about the arrest's timing, the former Delhi Chief Minister said: "I don't think the CBI works on timing per se."

Besides Rajendra Kumar and Deputy Secretary-rank officer Tarun Sharma, the CBI arrested two directors of Endeavour Systems Private Limited, Sandeep Kumar and Dinesh Kumar Gupta, and one Ashok Kumar, an official said.

The CBI had on December 14, 2015, registered a First Information Report against Rajendra Kumar on charge of abusing his official position in awarding contracts of the Delhi government to Endeavour Systems Private Limited.
