IIM-Lucknow's new director, Ajit Prasad, said on Tuesday efforts would be made to support local entrepreneurs in the manufacturing industry in a bid to aid the Make in India campaign.
In his first media interaction after formally joining on Monday, he said he supported the Make in India concept.
He stated his focus as head of the premier institute would be to inculcate transparency in all spheres of governance and to ensure that the brand of Indian Institute of Management-Lucknow shines further.
He said he would also work on facilitating research with the potential to benefit stakeholders at the local, national and international level and pointed out how IIM-Lucknow was the only IIM to use Public Policy in its mission statement.
"As an institution of national eminence, my priority would also be to ensure that IIM Lucknow develops a bifocal vision where the focus would not only be on policy matters of national importance but would also on state-related policy matters," he added.
