IIT-Roorkie alumni visit Lucknow metro, discuss progress

A delegation of 30 members of the Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee (IIT-R) alumni association were briefed about the the Lucknow Metro project on Thursday, an official spokesman said.

Kumar Keshav, Managing Director of the Lucknow Metro briefed them how a small team of technically competent and motivated engineers went on to create history by accomplishing a dream into reality in just three years.

"Engineers from the IIT-Roorkee and from other top engineering colleges across the country are the brains behind the success of the Lucknow Metro Rail project," Keshav said while interacting with the group.

A spokesman further informed IANS that it was a very nostalgic and proud moment for Keshav as he himself is an IIT-Roorkee alumnus.

 

At the Transport Nagar Metro depot, the delegation was briefed about the technical features and characteristics of the project.

Afterward, they visited the workshop cum inspection bay line, depot control centre, operation control centre (OCC), and were told about the system and the engineering par excellence facilities available at the Transport Nagar depot.

Later, the delegation members took a ride in a Metro train between Transport Nagar and Charbagh.
