The Delhi government authorities have impounded 366 auto-rickshaws and fined 372 others for violating norms and harassing passengers, an official statement said on Wednesday.
A total of 22 teams from the enforcement directorate carried out the daylong drive on July 11 across the national capital, including at New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Old Delhi and Hazrat Nizammudin railway stations, and Anand Vihar bus depot.
"A total of 366 auto-rickshaws were impounded and 372 others challaned," the statement said.
The erring owners/drivers were not plying by meter readings, did not possess valid fitness certificates, misbehaved with commuters, did not display helpline numbers, and overcharged customers, the statement added.
