Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) would have become the No.1 university in the country had it not been for the recent "unfortunate incidents of violence" there, AMU's Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah (Retd) has said.
"Had there not been the unfortunate incidents of violence at the University campus recently, the AMU would have achieved number one position in the country," he said during an Independence Day event here on Monday.
He assured that no stone will be left unturned for the restoration of the minority status of the University. He said that all preparations were on to strongly plead the case in the Supreme Court and he was confident that the judiciary would deliver justice in favour of the University.
