West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said India is incomplete without all communities, religions, castes, creeds and gender and urged everyone to uphold the "secular fabric of India".
"Just like a human body is incomplete without all organs, India is incomplete without all communities, religions, castes, creed and gender. Let us pledge to uphold the secular fabric of India," Banerjee tweeted.
She said her party will observe "Sanhati Dibas" (Solidarity Day) on Thursday in the state.
Banerjee also paid "respectful tribute" to Babasaheb Ambedkar on his death anniversary.
"His contribution in framing India's Constitution will forever be remembered by the generations to come," she added.
