India and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to enhance bilateral defence cooperation in areas such as training and UN peacekeeping, an official release said Friday.
Kyrgyz Defence Minister, Maj. Gen. Taalaibek Omuraliev Friday met Defence Minister A. K. Antony here and they discussed a range of issues of mutual interest concerning bilateral defence cooperation and also shared views on security issues, the release said.
"Both sides reaffirmed their desire to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation in areas of interest such as training, UN peacekeeping and defence industry cooperation," the release said.
It said that the two sides also agreed to take steps to enhance cooperation between their armed forces.
The Kyrgyz minister, who is on a five-day official visit to India from Sep 11, has visited some defence establishments in Delhi.
