External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday discussed recent developments in India-Nepal relations in a meeting with the Himalayan nation's Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat here.
"Both the Ministers discussed the recent developments in India-Nepal relations, particularly recent high-level bilateral exchanges and implementation of all ongoing bilateral economic and developmental cooperation projects," the External Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
"Both the Ministers reiterated their commitment to further strengthen and deepen age-old, close and friendly ties in diverse sectors of mutual interest," it said.
Mahat spoke about the local body elections in Nepal later this month and the ongoing efforts of his government to take all stakeholders on board in the constitution implementation process.
He thanked India for extending logistical assistance for elections. India has handed over several vehicles to the Election Commission of the Himalayan republic for smooth conduct of the polls.
Sushma Swaraj "conveyed her good wishes to government and people of Nepal in their national efforts to achieve peace, stability and socio-economic transformation", the ministry statement said.
