Indian and Pakistani armies Thursday exchanged greetings and sweets on the line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district to mark Pakistan's Independence Day.
A defence statement in Jammu said: "Sweets were exchanged at the Chakan-da-Bagh and Hot-spring Mendhar crossing points today by the troops of both sides on the occasion of Pakistan's Independence Day.
"The exchange of sweets is an appreciated gesture from both the countries and is expected to go a long way in promoting harmony and bonhomie along the LoC."
The gesture comes in the wake of continuing ceasefire violations by Pakistan on the LoC in the district.
