India and Poland have agreed to deepen collaboration in the cultural sector, an official said here Wednesday.

"India and Poland have agreed for deepening collaboration in culture sector covering diverse activities, including conservation, museums, archaeology, archives, science museums, and performing arts," Culture Secretary Ravindra Singh said.

The decision was taken at a meet held between Ravindra Singh and the visiting Polish Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage Malgorzata Omilanowska.

"In the run-up to the signing of the cultural exchange programme between India and Poland, a joint working group will be set up to identify specific deliverables from both sides and develop an operational plan," Singh added.

As part of the collaboration, Poland will provide opportunity to young Indian artists to perform at the newly constructed Krysztof Penderecki Luslawice National Music Hall and also provide scholarships for emerging talents.

The collaboration will also extend to archives and modern art.

"The two countries shall also develop collaboration in museum management, with particular emphasis on developing collaboration with the National Science Centre here. The Polish side also expressed interest in restoration work in Gaya," he said.
