India should step up its defensive capabilities, experts Tuesday said at a discussion here Tuesday.
Experts at the discussion held at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) insisted that India needs to have better management systems and take other domestic measures to counter the backlash of Islamist radicalism in Pakistan.
Discussing jihad, the experts at the discussion "The Sectarian Challenge to Pakistan: Options for India" felt there was widespread acceptance of the radicalism in Pakistan.
They observed that the Pakistan Army was also infiltrated by radical Islamists, said a release from the IDSA.
The experts argued that the Islamists generally dictate the political discourses in Pakistan and the Islamised education has created successive generations that reciprocate the idea of jihad and rule by the Islamic Shariah law.
