Indian chemical firms look for business in Indonesia

The delegation from Chemexcil, led by chairman Satish Wagh, visited Jakarta Jan 21, said a statement from the Indian embassy here.

Chemexcil promotes exports of dyes, organic and inorganic chemicals, agro chemicals, soaps and toiletries etc.

A buyer-seller meet, attended by over 100 Indonesian companies, was organised by the embassy in association with the Federation of Indonesia Chemical Industry and Kadin group.

Indian Ambassador Gurjit Singh said his country was looking at investing in Indonesia and stressed the need to establish joint ventures with Indonesian companies.

He said Indonesian companies could take advantage in associating with Indian firms, and urged both sides to look for new business opportunities and technological transfer.

 

India's chemical products export has more than doubled in the last two years from $377 million in 2009-10 to $873 million in 2011-12.
