A joint Nepalese-Indian Army team rescued Indian Everester Arjun Bajpai, 21, along with 12 other climbers late on Sunday from Mount Makalu.

They were stranded since the April 25 quake that hit Nepal.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Bajpai praised the joint team for his successful evacuation from Mount Makalu's Hillary base camp.

Bajpai and the other climbers were stuck at the base camp after the earthquake triggered avalanches in the mountain range.

The said the climbers were "obliged" for the rescue, adding that they had enough food in stock otherwise they would have would have been in trouble.
