The Indian women's cricket team achieved a landmark win at the Sir Paul Getty's Ground, defeating hosts England by six wickets in the only four-day Test of the series here Saturday.
Resuming the final day at 119/4 while chasing 181, India achieved the target without losing any wickets in the morning in their first Test in eight years.
Captain Mithali Raj (50 not out) was at the helm while Shikha Pandey (28 not out) gave her support from the other end for the unbeaten fifth wicket 68-run partnership to take India to a historic win.
Pacer Kate Cross was the pick of the English bowlers picking up three wickets for 42 runs but she failed to clinch any Saturday.
