An Indian community organisation in Brussels called "Art Lounge 9" organised Diwali celebrations at Atomium, one of the iconic monuments of the Belgian capital and the world at large.
On Saturday evening the city of Brussels flew the Indian tricolour atop the iconic monument.
Gaitri Issar Kumar, the India envoy to Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU, said that India has made rapid strides in science and technology and having the Indian flag atop the monument commemorating the advancement of the Atomic Age is a testament to India's achievements.
The King and Queen of Belgium are scheduled to visit India from November 5 to 11. India and Belgium are also celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations this year.
