All 20 Indians among the 170 people taken hostage in a five-star hotel in Mali's capital Bamako on Friday have been evacuated safely, the government said.

"Good news! All 20 Indians in the hotel have been safely evacuated," Vikas Swarup, the external affairs ministry spokesman, tweeted.

Ar least three people were killed after two gunmen took 140 guests and 30 employees hostage in the Radisson Blu Hotel. Those killed include two Malian citizens and a French national.
